Aetiology
Possible causes of small vessel arterial disease include:
- diabetes mellitus
- polyarteritis nodosa
- systemic lupus erythematosis
- rheumatoid disease
- hyperviscosity states eg myeloma, Waldenstrom's macroglobulinaemia, Raynaud's syndrome, polycythaemia, cryoglobulinaemia
