Clinical features
The features described may be present in extrasystoles whether they are atrial, nodal, or ventricular in origin.
- a premature beat with a compensatory pause that is followed by a stronger beat
- there are usually normal runs of normal beats. However extrasystoles may alternate with normal beats (pulsus bigeminus)
- extrasystoles may disappear during exercise.
