Predictors of unsuccessful maintenance of sinus rhythm and reversion to atrial fibrillation include:
- long duration of atrial fibrillation
- previous episodes of atrial fibrillation
- age > 50 years
- coronary artery disease
- hypertension
- aortic stenosis
