    • hypotension and dehydration
    • hypokalaemia or magnesaemia
    • hyponatremia
    • hypochloraemia
    • impotence

  • hyper's:
    • hyperkalaemia
    • hyperuricaemia and gout
    • hyperglycaemia and diabetes
    • hypercalcaemia
    • hypercholesterolaemia

  • others:
    • renal impairment
    • antiandrogenic effect - spironolactone
    • renal stones - triamterene
    • alkalosis, which further limits potassium retention
