ISIS trials

There have been four ISIS trials which have investigated the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction:

  • ISIS-1:
    • determined effects of beta-blocker therapy

  • ISIS-2:
    • determined the effects of aspirin and/or streptokinase

  • ISIS-3:
    • compared streptokinase vs. t-PA vs. anistreplase
    • compared aspirin alone vs. aspirin and heparin

  • ISIS-4:
    • comparing oral mononitrate vs. oral captopril vs. intravenous magnesium
