Diagnosis
The ventricular pre-excitation of the WPW syndrome has three characteristics:
- a PR interval of less than 0.12 sec in sinus rhythm
- a wide QRS of greater than 0.10 sec
- initial slurring of the QRS
A short PR without widening or slurring of the QRS suggests pre-ventricular excitation of the Lown-Ganong-Levine type.
