Effects of chlorpromazine
- sedative, antipsychotic, decreases spontaneous motor activity
- blocks central dopamine receptors (D2) - this causes increased prolactin release and antiemetic effect (dopamine mediated)
- extrapyramidal effects (due to D1-antagonism)
