Prognostic factors for disease severity in RA
The following features predict a poor prognosis:
- presence of rheumatoid factor
- presence of HLA D4
- joint erosions early in the disease
- increasing numbers of affected joints
- early disability
- disease onset at an older age
- fewer years of formal education
- presence of extra-articular features
