Predisposing factors
In asteatotic eczema the skin is degreased and dries out. Predisposing factors are:
- overwashing / overscrubbing - especially in situations of community care
- inadequate removal of soap
- low humidity / dry air - central heating; hospital
- winter
- diuretics
