Treatment
- mild to moderate topical steroid in a greasy base can be used until the skin improves - but care since underlying skin is usually fragile
- avoid excessive washing particularly with soaps and detergents using soap substitutes such as: - emulsifying ointment - aqueous cream
- bland emollients will often stop it recurring
- topical pimecrolimus gives good results (1)
