Characteristics of a hydrocoele
The characteristics of a hydrocoele include:
- confined to the scrotum - an examiner can 'get above' the mass
- more often on the right side
- it can be transilluminated with a pen torch
- may be small in the morning and increase in size by the evening resulting in a dragging pain
