Epidemiology
Syringoma has the following epidemiological features:
- it is relatively rare in the general population but there have been cases of familial clustering
- affects women more commonly than men
- tends to arise in puberty but in eruptive syringoma, multiple lesions may arise before the age of ten
- associated with Down's Syndrome
