Villous adenocarcinoma of appendix
Villous adenocarcinoma of the appendix tends to fill the viscus with mucus. Differentiation from a benign mucocoele may be difficult.
If unruptured, the tumour rarely metastatises, but perforation of the malignant mucocele may result in pseudomxyoma peritonei.
