Chase-Aurbach test
This test consists of infusing the subject with parathyroid hormone and measuring urinary phosphate and cAMP.
Using this test the two types of pseudohypoparathyroidism can be distinguished:
- type I:
- cAMP levels do not rise
- phosphate levels do not rise
- type II:
- cAMP levels do rise
- phosphate levels do not rise
