Femoral ring (anatomy)
The femoral ring is the medial compartment of the femoral canal in the lower abdomen. Its boundaries are:
- anteriorly: inguinal ligament
- medially: lacunar ligament
- laterally: medial border of femoral vein
- posteriorly: pectineal ligament and pectineus muscle
The contents of the femoral ring are Cloquet's node and lymphatics.
The femoral ring is the main site for a femoral hernia.
