Sedating drugs may be divided into those with more or less marked anti-muscarinic effects:

  • relatively strong anti-muscarinic effects:
    • amitriptyline
    • clomipramine

  • relatively weak anti-muscarinic effects:
    • doxepin
    • mianserin
    • trazodone
