Side effects of Gabapentin include:

  • dose-related CNS side effects, including:
    • somnolence } occurring in over
    • dizziness } 20 % of all patients
    • ataxia; occurring in 11-20% of patients
    • fatigue
    • nystagmus
    • headache
    • tremor
    • diplopia
    • nausea and/or vomiting
    • rhinitis
  • no evidence of hypersensitivity reactions - may be seen with drugs such as phenytoin, carbamazepine, lamotrigine
  • no teratogenicity data in Man
  • no evidence of weight gain
