Aetiology
Causes include:
- decreased water intake
- increased non renal losses
- skin, lung
- gastrointestinal
- increased renal losses
- diabetes insipidus
- polyuric phase of acute tubular necrosis
- increased losses due to solutes
- hyperosmolal coma
- diabetic ketoacidosis
