Investigation
In majority of cases, investigations are not necessary.
- vaginal and endocervical swabs if indicated
- a urinalysis to reveal any UTI
- a pelvic ultrasound – to check for hydrosalpinx and fibroids
- laparoscopy if deep dyspareunia and cause is not apparent on examination (1)
