Prompt factor replacement and temporary immobilization of painful joints are often sufficient to relieve pain.

If this is inadequate, consider:

  • joint aspiration under Factor cover
  • analgesics such as paracetamol which do not interfere with platelet function - but not aspirin
  • ibuprofen for chronic pain
