  • hypotension - use IV fluids and raise legs
  • a very rare side effect is anaphylaxis
  • re-perfusion arrhythmias may occur eg ventricular fibrillation
  • bradycardia

There is no increase in the incidence of stroke.

Note - among all fibrinolytic agents, streptokinase is the most antigenic; thus, it is most frequently complicated by allergic reactions and hypotension
