Drug therapy in chronic myeloid leukaemia
The drugs used in the treatment of the chronic phase of CML are:
- imatinib
- alfa interferon
- hydroxyurea
- busulphan
- newer tyrosine kinase inhibitors - Dasatinib, Nilotinib for imatinib-resistant CML (1)
Transformed CML may respond to chemotherapy regimes developed for acute leukaemias.
