Genu recurvatum
Mild form:
- commonest in infancy
- improves by early childhood
Severe forms:
- congenital:
- associations - congenital dislocation of hips, cerebral palsy, joint hypermobility, club foot
- treatment - splints and braces to restrict extension; exercises to build up muscles that support the knee
- acquired - secondary to joint damage
