Low cerebrospinal fluid glucose
Conditions which may lower the amount of glucose in CSF include:
- bacterial meningitis
- HSV or mumps meningitis, each of which occur in about 20% of cases
- subarachnoid haemorrhage
- tuberculous meningitis
- fungal meningitis
- other causes of meningitis may lower the glucose
