IgG subclass deficiency normally refers to an immaturity in the development of IgG2 and IgG4 subclasses. The result is recurrent infections with a mild degree of failure to thrive.
Superficially the immunoglobulin levels may be normal; however looking at subclasses reveals the deficiency.
There is a close association with IgA deficiency.
