Small intestine tumours
Tumours of the small intestine are very rare. Although this region comprises 80% of the luminal surface area of the gut, fewer than 2% of all primary gastrointestinal malignancies arise here.
Classification is as follows:
- benign
- hamartomatous
- intermediate
- malignant
