Trachoma
This is one of the commonest causes of blindness worldwide; of one hundred million people affected, at least 2% are blind. The condition is due to chlamydial infection - types A-C - leading to a chronic suppurative eye disease with follicular keratoconjunctivitis, entropion and trichiasis.
