Complications
CDH predisposes the individual to secondary arthritic changes in the false joint between the femoral head and the ilium.
There may be changes in the spine:
- a secondary scoliosis may result in premature osteoarthritic degeneration of the vertebral column
- accentuation of the normal lumbar lordosis
Subluxation of the hip may follow inadequately treated CDH.
