Damage to the median nerve may occur at various sites:

  • humerus - from a supracondylar fracture - especially in children
  • cubital fossa - from pronator syndrome, compression of flexor digitorum superficialis
  • forearm - involving the anterior interosseous nerve
  • wrist - carpal tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel surgery, slashed wrist
