Stillbirth
The legal definition of stillbirth in England and Wales is that of a foetus delivered after the 24th week of gestation with no sign of life after complete expulsion.
The stillbirth rate decreases as the quality of care throughout pregnancy improves in a population.
In England and Wales the stillbirth rate was 5.77 per 1000 live births and stillbirths
