Aetiology
The commonest cause of the Charles Bonnet syndrome is poor visual acuity.
Neurodegenerative diseases may present with the Charles Bonnet syndrome is the early stages:
- commonly, dementia with Lewy bodies
- also, Alzheimer's disease
