Developmental crises include:

  • adolescence
  • menopause
  • retirement These form of crises are encountered naturally and inevitably during the human life-cycle.

Accidental crises include:

  • redundancy
  • premature death of a spouse or a child
  • loss of a limb

All people experience crises in their lives; for this reason a state of crisis cannot be regarded as abnormal.
