Indications for corticosteroid treatment
Absolute indications for oral steroids are:
- neurological or cardiac sarcoidosis
- myopathy
- hypercalcaemia
- ocular involvement - if topical therapy has failed (1)
- significant or progressive impairment of pulmonary function
- disfiguring skin lesions
- persistent, severe systemic symptoms
