Chronic pyelonephritis
Chronic pyelonephritis (CPN) is a tubulo-interstitial disease, which is characterised by:
- tubular damage
- interstitial inflammatory changes
- renal scarring
In contrast to all other tubulo-interstitial diseases (except analgesic nephropathy) there is also involvement of the renal pelvis and the calyces.
