Azlocillin has a broad spectrum and is more active against Pseudomonas. aeruginosa than ticarcillin.

Indications are infection due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Cautions:

  • history of renal impairment and allergy

Contra-indications:

  • penicillin hypersensitivity.

Side-effects:

  • see 'penicillins (general side-effects)'

Routes of administration;

  • IV injection
  • IV infusion
