Axillary lymph nodes (apical)
The apical axillary lymph nodes:
- 4-6 nodes in this group
- location:
- most superior point - the apex - of the axilla
- medial to axillary vein and artery
- deep to pectoralis minor
- receives lymph from all the other axillary lymphatic nodes
- efferent lymphatics pass:
- deep to the clavicle to form the subclavian lymphatic trunk
- to the supraclavicular nodes
