Endothoracic fascia

The endothoracic fascia is a thin layer of homogenous fibrous connective tissue sits between the fibrous outer layer of the parietal pleura and the:

  • wall of the thoracic cavity
  • diaphragm
  • transversus thoracis muscles of the lower thorax

It provides a plane of cleavage of parietal pleura from the inside of the thoracic cage.
