Cone biopsy
This is a procedure that involves cutting a cone of tissue around the external cervical os. This is achieved via the use of a laser or knife.
This procedure allows the removal of neoplastic cervical tissue for histology. The procedure may be curative.
Complications include:
- immediate:
- bleeding
- infection
- delayed
- cervical stenosis
- cervical incompetence
