Chest radiology in heart failure
Is useful in finding supportive evidence of chronic heart failure and to exclude other causes of shortness of breath (1).
The characteristic findings in the chest radiograph in a patient with heart failure include:
- large heart
- upper lobe venous dilatation
- pleural effusion
- fluid in the fissures
- peribronchial cuffing
- interstitial and alveolar shadowing
