Treatments to avoid
There are certain treatments to avoid in acute myocardial infarction:
- type I anti-arrhythmics such as flecainide and lignocaine should not be used to prevent frequent ventricular ectopics - this treatment increases mortality:
- amiodarone should be given instead
- amiodarone should be given instead
- quick release calcium channels blockers increase mortality
