The posterior cerebral artery is the terminal branch of the basilar artery. It supplies a considerable portion of the medial surface of the occipital lobe and visual cortex - occipital and calcarine branches; much of the medial and undersurface of the temporal lobe - temporal branch; and also, midbrain structures such as the choroid plexus and the posterior thalamus.
