Eccrine poroma has the following pathological features:

  • tumour cells:
    • irregular accumulations within vascular stroma
    • tends to extend from epidermis into dermis
    • epidermal basaloid structure
    • characteristically, filled with glycogen and glycolytic enzymes
  • crossed by ducts:
    • numerous and tortuous
    • lysosome within cell
  • often superficial hyperkeratosis
