    • post-inflammatory:
      • scarring for example, burns, chicken pox
      • discoid lupus erythematosus
      • eczema, especially in black patients
      • pityriasis alba
    • infection:
      • leprosy
      • pityriasis versicolor
      • pinta
    • immunological:
    • vitiligo.
      • halo naevus - circulating antimelanoma antibody
    • toxins:
    • phenolic disinfectants
      • hydroquinones
