In the event of overdose or severe toxicity, cholestyramine or activated charcoal is recommended to accelerate elimination.

Cholestyramine (8 g tds for 24 hours) or activated charcoal (50 g every 6 hours for 24 hours) significantly reduces plasma levels by reducing the half-life from 2 weeks to 1 day.

This washout may be repeated if necessary.
