Non-scarring baldness
In this condition the bald skin appears normal (apart from the hair loss) and the normally visible follicular orifices are preserved.
Causes include:
- alopecia areata
- trichotillomania
- scalp ringworm - some causes of tinea capatis may result in scarring alopecia
- traction alopecia
