Central pontine myelinolysis
Central pontine myelinolysis (CPM) is a rare demyelinating condition of the pons affecting:
- long tract fibres
- pontocerebellar fibres
- pontine nuclei
CPM is associated with:
- chronic alcoholism
- over-rapid correction of hyponatraemia
There is no treatment.
