Differential diagnosis

The differential diagnosis of Conn's syndrome includes:

  • familial hyperaldosteronism type 1
  • syndrome of apparent mineralocorticoid excess

Note that renal artery stenosis may also be a cause of hypokalaemia and refractory hypertension.
