Only 60% of the 688 randomised patients completed the 2 year trial.
During the first year:
- the orlistat group lost 10.2% body weight vs. 6.1%
During the second year:
- those who continued on orlistat gained 2% body weight
- those who continued on placebo gained 2.5% body weight
- those who swapped from placebo to orlistat lost 0.9%
- those who swapped from orlistat to placebo gained 4%
