Syringoma has the following pathological features:
- numerous sweat ducts:
- convoluted
- arising in upper dermis
- surrounded by fibrous stroma
- some lining cells deformed into a characteristic 'tadpole' shape
- ultrastructural detail:
- numerous tonofilaments
- glycogen deposits
- lots of lysosomes in luminal cells
