Immediate treatment
In any dental trauma, staunch any haemorrhage with sterile gauze:
- treat shock or fracture of jaw as necessary
- possibly reimplant subluxed or knocked out teeth
- splint loose teeth with foil (eg milk bottle tops)
- give appropriate analgesia
- give antibiotics if pulp exposed or tooth subluxed or knocked out
